AGS Rehab is pleased to offer Mental Health First Aid Training on behalf of the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training is an evidence-based, two day (12 hour) course that prepares employees to recognize, respond and provide immediate (first aid) support to those experiencing mental health challenges and/or a mental health crisis. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Astute employers know the direct and indirect costs associated with mental health issues in the workplace. Prudent and progressive employers are looking for ways to address these costs with a best practice approach.
MHFA training provides employees with a greater understanding of mental health and how to properly respond to these challenges. Employers benefit by potentially reducing costs associated with poor mental health in the workplace such as chronic mental stress claims and other mental health absences or presenteeism issues. In addition, this training will help to reduce stigma in your workplace which leads to a more positive workplace culture and promotes employee wellness.
This program will train you to recognize the signs and symptoms and respond with best practice approaches to the following disorders:
- Mood-related disorders, including bipolar and depression
- Substance-related disorders
- Anxiety and trauma-related disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder
- Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia
Additionally, our course will provide you with valuable resources in dealing with these issues. Our fee includes training, snacks, manual, and certificate upon completion.
Mental Health First Aid is now virtual!
This 8-hour course opens with a self-directed module (Module 1) that focuses on the information and strategies that participants will discuss and practice throughout the virtual classroom modules (Modules 2 and 3). Course participants are required to complete Module 1 before participating in Module 2 and 3.
